Questions about Bandwidth

I have Comcast, no Fios in my area, and with comcast there are plans based on download and upload speeds. The 105 mbps plan is over $100 per month. Is there any way I can unlock my existing 25 down 7 up to a faster plan without paying extra? I know there has to be a way comcast limits your bandwidth, and my question is how can I unlock that if it is possible.

Your best bet is to call Comcast and see if they can offer you any "exclusive" offers! Here in the UK I'm with BT, when I wasn't happy with my broadband I called them up and said I was leaving them for another provider, they then offered me a plan which wasn't usually available to other customers.

It pays to threaten companies sometimes, you could get more than you expect.

Agreed with previous two comments.

Also - generally to make that jump you end up having to get a new modem that supports the speeds. good luck finding one for free - either way, be a good customer and pay for what you want.

I actually pay $5 per month for modem and router from Xfinity.
