Mouse or trackpad I am not a fan of track pads but they get the job done. I like laser mouses more. |

Trackpad is good for basic tasks... Email, Browsing etc. Mouse is better for Editing and anything that is a little more serious. |

I have both and I find the trackpad is good for just chilled computer use, and then the mouse is for when you would rather get a lot done and be more productive as everything seems to just happen faster with a mouse over the trackpad. |

I think Apple's Magic Trackpad is too flimsy to be very productive with, so on a desktop I always use a good mouse. I also prefer wired mice because I find that wireless ones have the tiniest lag in them, but just enough to drive me crazy. On a laptop? I think trackpads meet the needs for portable computers just fine. I used to occasionally plug in a USB mouse, but when I eventually switched to a MacBook Pro, I fell in love with the trackpad. In fact, in some cases I find it easier to use the trackpad in Final Cut Pro than a mouse, because it's easier to scroll both up and down and left and right very quickly around the timeline and other objects. Most mice only have one direction of scrolling. The Mighty Mouse has 360 degree scrolling, but I never liked that mouse much either... oh well. |

I personally prefer my Logitech Trackman Trackball Marble

i like my mouse but if ui'm typing and i need to moveto different fields(if tab doest work eg. java games) i use the track pad otherwise i could live without |

Mouse with a scrollball. Trackpads are simply annoying to deal with. |

What's a tackpad?
