Hello! I have a problem:

What is the best e-mail client?

It has to:

  1. support W7 and OSX Lion
  2. have a nice clean design
  3. not be anything from Microsoft, please!

I've been using MS Live Mail for the past year, but I really need to switch because it always crashes on me. It's really shit. The reason it has to be cross-platform is so I won't have to switch when I get a MacBook Pro.

Thanks. - Jørgen, Norway

The best one I know is Mozilla's Thunderbird mail application.

I'm testing it, and so far so good! :) Way better than WL Mail, that's for sure.

Should I mention add-ons

Yeah, I know. What's Mozilla without add-ons, right?

Are you actually using Windows Live account? Mozilla Thunderbird is a pretty good application, but if you're always going to be connected to the web Windows Live Mail online has continued to improve (especially in the last several months) and works pretty well. The reason I mention this is as long as you have a browser you can use it anywhere.

I'm not using Hotmail, but the Windows Live Mail client. And it has most certainly not improved the last months. It's nothing but shit.

What I meant was Windows Live Hotmail (not Windows Live Mail), but there's a difference in the two I'm talking about (Hotmail has improved immensley). . Sorry about the confusion.

If you absolutely must use a client, use Thunderbird.
