i have never owned a netbook, laptops and desktops i never thought that they would be powerful enough so i didnt buy one. |

Netbooks aren't underpowered at all. At the same time, they aren't overpowered too. Netbooks were made with the following elements in mind
Well, until tablets came into the market. Though in some cases, netbooks win over tablets due to the amount of built-in space available(160GB vs 16GB). |
|
Netbooks are commonly slower than laptops. They are mostly focused on size, budget and battery usage/power consumption. I wouldn't recommend a netbook to play games. Especially seeing how the resolutions are very low and would have an awkward aspect ratio let alone bad performance. |
|
I bought one last year and I sold it a few months ago, it wasn't even powerful enough to run a browser imo... It was sooooooooooooo slow it hurt! Buy a small 13" laptop instead... |

Netbooks where never meant to be power houses, they where only meant for web browsing, email, and light software use, not huge power house applications, as you can see by most netbook specs, although acer does have a few nice ones, I have yet to find a decent netbook. |

yes they are especially with the atom processors in it which has less then the old pentium-powered pc's |
|
They are underpowered. Their man purposes are for moderate web surfing and word documentation. |
|
It depends upon your needs. Netbooks are under powered for certain tasks but for light usage & web browsing, A netbook should be ok. |

Netbooks are slow, but they are multiple times faster than the current fastest tablet and are a fraction of the cost. A friend of mine uses his netbook as a game server, (runs great with battlefield 2, TF2 and a couple other games (the server app doesn't use full CPU usage) (it seems many people who used to use a old PC to run a game server, are now using netbooks since they are fast enough and instead of using old desktop that may use 100-200 watts, you instead get a netbook which use around 5-10 watts (and is quiet, some of them are passively cooled) When I find a really good deal on one (hoping to get a dual core one for under around $170 to turn into a security camera DVR (the decent security camera DVR's cost upwards of $300). |

It depends on the Netbook. I feel if a laptop or any computer can handle 1080p or 720p streaming video from the internet without dropouts then it is powerful enough. Some of the netbooks can't handle that, some can. |
