I just got an interesting glitch when trying to access the iOS app store. I really don't know how I will go about posting an image of it, because this iPod touch is my only way to browse the web right now, but it basically showed me a very HTML looking page stating that my apps were up to date. This was inside the app store app. So, is the app store just a website?

Edit: here's a screenshot I took of it: alt text

If that doesn't work click here to see it.

The iOS App Store is not a website, but the way it grabs it's information is from various HTML files generated for the user. Sometimes when something goes wrong with the code, the App Store thinks "OMG! a web page!" and then loads it in a plain text format.

If it were to be in HTML, then that would be a waste of Apple's time, and would only be a matter of time before Jailbreakers figure out a way inside.

The iOS app store is not a website. The jailbreaks app store is based on the design of the apple iOS app store, but in a HTML fashion

Well I'm not jailbroken. I'll try to post a screen shot I took of it later.

It is probably code that the device did not display correctly and show its raw code

I have had a glitch before on the App store where I could scroll horizontally where the text was, not just the images/screenshots of the app I was viewing.

Wow. Next time it happens I should tap and hold one of the links and copy it's location to see where it leads.
