Logitech webcam corrupt signal?

I have tried two different webcams, both an HD 720 one and a standard VGA one. They are both Logitech and they work through Window XP's viewer in My Computer but when I view it in webcam security software, the image seems to be corrupt, I have tried it in different types of software such as Vitamin D and webcamXP. This is to be used as a temporary CCTV camera until we get proper CCTV cameras and a recorder.
