Do You Get Your Advertised Broadband Speed?

Actually I get a little more than advertised, I get 0.125 mb more than advertised.

When i Signed up to talktalk, they estimated that i could get 13Mbps.. they was quiet Right. But sometimes it goes over this.

I also get a little bit more than advertised. I get about .20 Mbps over advertised.

I get my promised speed and sometimes more. Of all ISPs in Holland, mine is not the cheapest, but service is great and a very minimal downtime. In this case, I do get what I pay for...

ir all depends on what your doing on the internet and with your service at the time if all your doing at the time is checking speed hehe then most likely you will findi it at its best for that time. how ever if you were to say be down loading from a torrent videos or music basically illeagal and the IP is labeled or black listed you would find you are throttled to the slowest of speed and set to the lowest of priority while your neighbour same ISP watching netflix is getting top notch or above speed :)

this is todays internet all about priority as bandwidth is tight and not unlimited

ne and my wife can be settin g side by side 2 different computers same router same provider and depending on what we do we vcan see the difference big time ..

whats worse is we have one of them wacked out new routers that if internet on out IP get throttled and held up it will bump the other connections and seek out another neighbors router IP with less or no connections traffic :P since they are all password protected you plain got no network .. you have to power down the router and reset it to get connected or stop the computer and reboot them ..

everything today is prioritized , even your web browser has priorities set according to flags on IP addresses ..

bandwidth is a commdity today here our cable internet is not only under contract by the year for a set monthly fee the band width monthly is swet too at 40 gb any thing over is paid for @ the rate of $1.50 GB and they want a credit card number for anything over 10extra GB ..

as I understand it most cable company's are going this direction I know TWC is for sure they are not only looking to contract internet phone and cable to lock people in and limit bandwidth things have dropped off so bad for them in the cable market they are looking to the internet for ways to keep cable offerings going ..

When I did a speedtest.net and a speed test from my provider I get the speed that I am paying for and maybe a little bit more depending on the time of day with my cable modem. But I am over all very happy with it. No major problems with it.
