Well it's impossible to say on the lack of information you've provided. You need to provide information such as:

1) Is it an LCD or LED screen?

2) What is the resolution?

3) What is the refresh rate?

I can answer my own question, The build in monitor is better the the Acer Monitor. I say this b/c the Acer monitor will turn a yellowish color when you look at the screen at a side ways angel, and the built in onw does not turn yellow.

You are lacking information. I have had better luck with Acer monitor's. They have a better build quality, and better reviews. Compaq is a budget version of HP, meaning you won't get as high quality materials. Just a guess.
