Hey, Recently I watched a video in which Adam (Seananners from Youtube) mentioned that his setup was a PC for the gaming and a Mac Pro for recording it all. I was wondering if I could do the same thing with an Dell Vostro 3700 laptop for the gaming and an early 2009 model 24 Inch iMac for the recording. I'm guessing Adam uses a special piece of hardware in his Mac Pro for this but could my iMac be capable to do the same thing? If I can't do this with my iMac, is there a device that can record HDMI or VGA output (HDMI preferred)? Let's say for around €50 ($65~$75). I can stretch my budget to €100 ($130~$150) but I'd prefer the cheapest way (as long as it gives me the quality I want). Fraps works fine but it takes away a lot of system resources. Since my laptop's screen resolution is 1600x900 (NVidia GT 330M graphics card) I am focusing on 720P (1280x720) just to make sure that I don't stretch the video. I might be able to record in 1080P since we have an HD tv but that would mean that I would have to split the cable (which could possibly take away quality). |

Maybe if you have the higher end graphics card configuration, bur I don't think thats possible. But I don't do a lot of that kind of stuff |
