Well basically i have a Technika Tv with 2 scart ports at the back but no red and white output cable slots. and i also have a kenwood surround system with a red and white slot at the back but no scarts, so what i did is i put a red and white in the back of the surround sound system and then put the other ed and white end into a scart adapter then in my tv scart slot then into the tv. and it all works like that and the surround sound system plays perfectly through normal channels tv channels and all of that but when i try to use the tvs built in dvd player with the surround sound i switch the channel to dvd to try and watch it but it still plays out the audio from the channel i was watching on normal tv. any help ??

Is the sound on the film/dvd player set to 5.1 surround or stereo? If it's on stereo I'd say thats the problem. |

Maybe the reason for the two SCART ports on the back of your TV is that one is for TV audio output and the other is for DVD audio output. To test it, plug the SCART adapter into the other SCART port and go the the DVD input. If the audio works, you've found a solution. Also, when you say that the SCART adapter goes to two "red and white cables" that tells me its R/L stereo audio. I'm assuming you are using Dolby Pro Logic or something else to recreate the 5.1 from 2 channels? |
