How do I turn my videos into a letterbox format and upload it to YouTube?

I am wondering how I can turn my videos I have and upload it to YouTube in a letterbox version so it will take up the whole screen and have the letterbox top and bottom black bars on the videos instead of the left and right black bars.

0	Do you mean making it widescreen? You could use most converters and tell it to make a 16:9 Picture, though that would lessen the resolution of the picture. answered Aug 03 '11 at 17:33 kevin ♦♦ 35.7k●160●316●589

The video is already HD 720p & 1080p. I wanna make it widescreen.

an HD 720p and 1080P is already widescreen as standard. Just so you know. I am guessing you have some fake upconverted SD signal.
