So, I have just watched this video answering a video question about iDevices replacing calculators, and in that video Kevin (I believe it's you. I seem to have forgotten the name sorry :D) had mentioned that he wrote programs with his HP calculator and ran them. I have known this was possible for quite some time, but I am going to be taking a programming class this semester and even though I might not learn the language that the TI-84 will support, it might be kinda fun to just sit and write code (obviously not during class) with it. So, what language does the TI-84 use? And how can I get to its coding window and compile it? I don't know a lot of terminology in terms of programming yet so hopefully this made sense :)

Press the 'prgm' button, move over to 'New', press enter, type in a name for the program and code away! To run a program simply move over to the 'Execute' menu and select it. It uses a language called TI-BASIC. It is quite simple, and I was able to teach it to myself. There are also lots of tutorials on YouTube if you don't have any programming experience.
