I've found QuickTime Player quite annoying when I try to record myself with the FaceTime HD camera that's built into my MacBook Pro...

Is there an alternative that would do the job and offer a wider variety of options that QuickTime does?

Thanks in advance.

To record myself I prefer iMovie if I'm going to edit it, or Photo Booth if I'm not.

Quicktime (as a recorder) is generally only good for screen recording in my experience.

Screen flow is my favorite for screen casting and webcam capture (at the same time even). You can easily export the videos.

I'm sure he's looking for a free alternative instead of paying $100 for software that is definitely worth it, but not exactly what he's looking for.

What's annoying about Quicktime?

You can record through iMovie, and you definitely have a wider amount of options with a video editor compared to a video player.
