Can you be more specific? Many more factors must be considered than just voltage and amperage. Can you give me the battery chemistry type and the type of charger you are using? I'll try to help if I can. :)

Sure, the battery is a NICAD Battery Pack and the charger is a class 2 power supply input 120v AC 60Hz. I will upload a picture to help

Ah, see your battery is 600mAh, not just mA, so that's a bit different. Give me a few minutes and see if I can figure it out for you.

It should be safe to charge this battery for about 1.5 hours to get a full charge with that charger. Make absolute sure to disconnect it after that time, as you're going to be continually shoving current into a fully charged battery, which can damage it and lead to a fire. Stay safe, and I hope this helps!

For the record, I used this handy calculator at this website to figure out the tike for you: http://convert-to.com/491/recharging-rechargeable-nimh-nicd-batteries.html

You're welcome! Yep, it usually makes things easier to keep the charger on the same voltage as the battery, mathematically anyway. If you wouldn't mind, please leave a comment back here if the battery ends up charging ok, just so I gave you the right info. Thanks!

Ok, glad I could help! It's possible the math getting 1.5 hours could be a little bit off (nothing in real life is exactly perfect to calculation), so if you only get a tiny charge after that long you could try charging it longer, just keep a close eye on it, maybe keep it nearby while doing other things so you can disconnect it if there's trouble.

Before connecting any charger to any battery to be charged check the polarity of the charger and of the battery, If there are no markings, use a voltmeter to determine the polarity of each before connecting. The rule is " Connect positive to positive and negative to negative. If using colour coded connectors the rule becomes "Connect red to red and black to black". It is safer to switch off the charger before making the connections. If you get it wrong the charger will cause a large discharge current , if the battery doesn't blow up or if a fuse doesn't blow the charger will reverse charge the battery. All blindingly obvious if you know, its not knowing that hurts.
