"Is it something that is genetic for all of us? My family averages 5 feet tall (if they are lucky). My dad is like 4ft.11. Sadly, I'm the tallest in my family, currently at about 5ft.5 (hopefully I'm not done growing yet). Most Asians are generally short. Except for some of the latest generation. Is it a regional thing too?"

Asian are generally short due to their diet and height to width radio. While American have higher height, they have a wider body structure. While Asian have a smaller width while having a shorter height.

Yes asians are generally smaller than most other people. As to why that is I don't know. Mostly if the majority in a nation is short it's because of the lack of nourishment the kids get when they grow up. But now most asian nations have far better societies than the western "civilized" world as we like to call it. This could be true because lately asians are growing taller and taller. It could also be something genetic from long ago. Asians have their own 'racial traits' (not trying to sound racist or anything) like their eyes and black hair. Maybe their height is one of those traits.

And I can't possibly see how this can be offending to asians because 1. He's an asian himself, 2. there's nothing wrong in being short, 3. this place is notorious for it's übermature people, and übermature people don't get offended

I'm not sure, but don't you think that this question could be offending to some people? I don't think that you were trying to be offensive, but think of it from the point of view of an Asian who was getting bullied for his height, and saw this. I don't know, but perhaps a title change would be good.
