You wil not get shocked because yoou will not punch trough your lcd monitor...you wont belive how tough these things are...I once hit with full force an old 15 inch lcd with a basebell bat and it barely made a dent in it...it sort of absorbet the impact...

You do not know how much I want to do this! I wish I could just smash electronics and relieve stress. But sadly, I care too much about them and can't even bare the thought of my monitor getting a scratch on it :'(

The currents inside the monitor are fairly weak. However there are other nasty things inside. Many monitors nowadays are free from poisonous materials, however if you manage to break the seals between the layers, the electricity will cause the materials to vaporize and create very hazardous smoke. but if you want to punch through a monitor, punch through an LCD.. if you punch through a CRT monitor you might just as well divide by zero >.<'

i would have to say unless you start really going at it no...

there is a lot of plastic and metal sheets between you and the high voltage electronics unless you manage to hit a backlight cable or start punching it from the back your probably fine :D
