Hello, i am trying to access my ip cam from over the internet. I can access it from my lan network just not over the internet, does any one have any idea ?

1st. make sure you have a static ip. If not, set up a dyndns account so you will know what ip or name to connect to.

2nd. In the router level, set port forwarding so the router knows to send it to the ip cam device.

i set port forwarding up but when i try and access outside of my home with an external doomain which i created at dyndns it just times out and cannot connect

make sure the router is set up to connect with dyndns

If your dyndns is up to date and your router is forwarding the ports correct. If it does not work you can see if dyndns is pointing to the correct ip by checken if "http://www.whatismyip.com" matches "nslookup yourdyndnsaddress". The nslookup command should be executed in a commandprompt.

I know the camera is capable because there are videos of people showing it on youtube.

You need to do something with port forwarding and allowing an external application but i dont know how to do that so good luck lol
