I have a iPhone 3G and an iPod touch 4G. When I go into itunes on the iPod Touch 4, it shows purched items and if they are not present on the device, you can click a cloud button and it downloads it. I downloaded an app on my iPhone 3G, and later in the day, it was on the iPod, I think it automaticly synced. Is iCloud compatible on iPhone 3G and older or iPod touch 2G or older???

It works - but you have to set all the settings manually. I've found the settings on this german website: http://3th.be/2011/10/14/icloud-am-iphone-3g-einrichten/
