Should Jesus be cloned from the Shroud of Turin? | This isn't a new idea. Using DNA from the Shroud of Turin to clone the Son of God, has been the subject of books, movies, and even an Outer Limits Episode. Let's try not to debate on the science, but rather the What If? Would this produce the Second Coming of Christ, False Prophet, or Anti-Christ?

Such a bunch of friendly people here :/, but no I don't think she should be cloned at all there's no need to do that. I mean think about consequences, what would we do if we found out that everything in the bible would be wrong or the bible was intended for something completely different? |

I'm not a Christian at all, I do however think that sometimes science goes a little too far just to answer the question "is this possible". (I hope that's not what the OP meant by debating the science.. I'm debating the morality). I don't believe the result would be the second-coming or anything else biblical or divine; it would produce a human (assuming the science is sound.. sorry I HAD to stick that in ;p) ). I don't know .. messing with genetics in my opinion is a huge mistake and always has been. I just feel that eventually we will end the world in a manner that would befit a Kurt Vonnegut novel (ie Cat's Cradle). Anyway cloning what would be assumed to be J.C. himself would start massive religious wars I think. And the rest of us would be cowering somewhere to avoid becoming a casualty. |

This Shroud of Turin scares me a bit... Never seen it. Heard of it plenty of times. Blanket used to cover Jesus Christ before he was killed? If I am wrong correct me I love to learn. I am an Athiest, but I will look at this from the point of a Christian. No he should not be cloned. He is living-- He is in peace in the Kingdom of Heaven. This goes against God himself. God created everything and life. Re Creating life is just an insult to him. That is his job not for us to recreate. Not that that is over. Re creating him... I think since he is not the TRUE son of God himself, he will be a heretic. People will call him and believe he is the son of God. When he is just a creation of our Science. Soon enough things will go mad, he will create his own religion now believing he is the son of God. Basically its a bad idea. (Not my actual point of view just my opinion if I was looking at it as a Christian, I am a care free Atheist) |

just to let you know, even if we did try to clone Jesus Christ, nothing would happen. Do you really think that God would allow that? I mean come on. Then again, we it actually did happen, it would just be called the rapture. ur call |
|
It would be pretty funny if they went and did it spending millions blah blah blah and when the clone is asked about god he's just like "what are you guys talking about??" |
|
by now the genetic material would be mostly destroyed, and unrecoverable. so it is unlikely, not to mention the ethical/political issues with cloning humans let alone Jesus. |
|
If you could clone a body from DNA that doesn't mean it would be him. It may be his body but not him...my opinion though. |

I agree with IamTechCrazy, They may be able to clone a person (in this case, Christ), but personality-wise, it could never be the fabled Jesus Christ. Unless they had the technology like in the movie "The Sixth Day", where they capture an image of your mind and insert it into the clone, but seeing as Christ has been dead for 2000 years, I think that would be impossible. |
