I just thought of that while looking around tiger direct for other stuff. Can I put a SDD in a PS3 if I just put drivers on it? From what I hear you can put just about any 2.5 inch drive in it.

If you googled enough, you'd find out that it'll work. But then again, are you sure you'd wanna spend the money on an SSD?

I wouldn't think an SSD is necessary, the boot time on the PS3 is more than manageable and you won't get any noticeable gain in game performance.

He would see a decrease in loading times when the game files are preinstalled into the SSD.
