Shouldn't Facebook Sue Google+ in terms of intellectual property rights?

I;ve recently been invited to Google+ by Another geek friend and I noticed that everything (almost) is the same with facebook. i might say, they may be having different codes and some other little differences as to how Google+ was tweaked but, in essence they are the same!! i'm not talking about the code, but the Idea. not the mere idea of networking but the format. maybe?? what's your side about this?

if i write an entirely different code and end up with the same feature of a site, do you have the right to file me a lawsuit?

With that logic in essence Myspace should sue Facebook! and Zanga should sue Mypace! And Youtube should sue Vimeo! And This forum should be sued by Yahoo! for infringing on there Yahoo! Answers design!!!!!!

huh? school? I'm done with that (except for the masteral degree). I'm just not familiar with regards to internet laws. and my time zone is GMT+8 (it's midnight here)

Yeah, I don't get it. I don't think the "moron in a hurry" test would confuse Facebook and Google+. They aren't all that similar.

Besides, what Google is doing isn't all that unique. Facebook hasn't pursued anyone with similar interfaces, so it would be unprecedented for them to target Google.

Besides, Facebook has too much to gain by being at least friendly to Google, how many Android phones are being used to post to Facebook right now?

Lawsuits often have a lot more at stake than simple copying. Like, back in the day when Microsoft and Apple were embroiled in counter-suing each other, there were other departments making hush-hush let's be friends deals. You can't build a business model on lawsuits. It simply doesn't work. It's much better to build business models on partnerships.

yea you're right. if you can't beat 'em, JOIN EM!! I see what you're saying is really happening. I've visited Yahoo, Friendster and some other Networking sites and I thought it was really stupid to add the Option "Login with Facebook" esp. Yahoo! it says "login with Google"
