For some of you, probably programmers or amateur programmers, this requires no further explanation. But for the rest of you, you may be confused as to what I'm talking about. So I'll give a BRIEF example using my age: Right now I'm 17. Now really I'm 17 1/2 but we aren't worried about that. So, what I do is take my age, convert it to binary, then count how many binary digits (bits) there are. So, 17 in binary is 10001. So, that means that my age is equal to 5 bits. If you don't know how to convert numbers to binary, then there are several binary converters on the internet. In fact, there's one right here (the HTML is a bit freaked up, but it works. It gave me 1000 for 8, which is correct). Now if you are a bit more DIY, you may want to convert the number by hand. I'd like to give HUGE props to lockergnome user ivantomica for showing me this website, but it explains how convert any number of any base to any other base. Here's the link: http://www.robotroom.com/NumberSystems3.html. Read the section on converting Decimal to Binary. Anyway, if this wasn't too confusing, then please answer. If you just don't know it, you could simply post your age and then me or someone else could tell you, but this may not be something you want to do and it may be frowned apon by the admins. But, if you could, thanks for answering! Also do not feel obliged to post your age with your answer. I'd simply answer with "5. bla bla bla bla blaaaaaaa 25 characters!!!!! :D!!!!!" |

17 in binary is 10001, actually.
ah crap you're right! I guess I deemed 16 as non existant there or something. Wow I feel like an idiot haha
