What does this bumper sticker really mean?

That without art there is no earth.... art livens our lives and brightens our day... art can cause us to pause and think about something we wouldn't have thought of otherwise... art is our way of imitating nature and everything around us.... (Personally I think this should be extended to cover music too)

Eh, that sounds good but based on your following statements, your first statement is backwards. It should read, "Without Earth there is no art." There would still be Earth without art, it would just be boring. And while that's a fair statement, it doesn't really make the graphic work. It only works the way you said it. Maybe it's just not meant to be deeply pondered, because it doesn't hold up very well when it is. Not something I'd personally want to be broadcasting to all who tailgate me or pass by my car in the parking lot, but that's just me.

It can be interpreted as many ways as there are people to interpret it. Art plays a very significant role in life and I agree, without Art there could be no earth. We could blow it up with our atom bombs and so on.

As in Earth is the artwork of God or a higher being? I doubt that's what it's saying just based on who's selling them, and especially who's buying them (though most of them can't explain it anyway). If "Earth is art" is literally what it's stating, then I think that really is silly and rather meaningless from their perspective. So I don't think that's what they had in mind.

Without art earth is just "eh". nothing special. ha i don't know though it can mean whatever you want it to.

Now your making it sound more Canadian Eh! like totally awsome eh. lol.(Just kidding there.) I guess it was kind of playing with words when they highlighted the word art in the word earth.

Though art is certainly worth discussing, it needn't be completely explained. For some, the bumper sticker itself might be considered art, while for others it's simply a sticker. This sticker seems to be attempting to make a statement about art and Earth; whether that statement means anything is up to the viewer. (Perhaps there's some other and less obvious meaning the sticker is indicating, as well. Perhaps the registered trademark symbol, ®, has something to do with that less obvious meaning -- or perhaps it's simply what it is, a symbol indicating that this bumper sticker is a registered trademark.)

It depends how you interrupt it I see with out the art of earth would there be one but this is MY opinion you may have it totally different and that is fine we all see things differently if I see someone I see as beautiful but you don't that is because you don't have same perspective as me baackround,etc. so their is no "What it "Really" Means". - A
