I am designing a system for the two big screen HDTVs we have mounted in both lobbies at a local church. I need to design a system that can send both announcements and a video feed from a camera when services are going on. I will need to be able to easily switch between feeds. I was thinking about using MediaShout since it can handle live video feeds as well as announcements, and running VGA cable from the computer to both tvs. One has to travel quite a distance though, over 100 ft so I don't know how it would do even with an amplifier which I will use of course. Any suggestions on other things I could do? Needs to stay relatively inexpensive.

I bet you will need some hardware like http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=video+splitter+vga&hl=en&prmd=ivns&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1920&bih=970&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=2659220331229301534&sa=X&ei=UmMTTrCzOYzKiALu4vjaDQ&ved=0CFsQ8wIwAA or http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=video+splitter+vga&hl=en&prmd=ivns&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1920&bih=970&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=1211480073960562748&sa=X&ei=S2MTTrKNCMTKiAKR65n6DQ&ved=0CKgBEPMCMAU which will also amplify as it goes through.
For software, I am guessing something like http://vidblaster.com/ that will let you handle video broadcasting easily

Like Kevin says, I would combine everything into VidBlaster. When services are going on, you have a full video switcher, and when services are not, just have it going through a slideshow of announcements. My local church also does this, but they use an app called Pro Presenter on OS X that feeds back out to a "real-deal" Grass Valley production switcher. This switches all the cameras,
I actually wanted to do something like this at my school as well. Now the budget for something like was no where near that of the church, so I set up a simple solution. We have 3TVs places around campus, we had a couple of old schedule XP boxes lying around, and I use the free-open source software called Xibo. Now this falls more under the category of "digital sinage" but one of the features Xibo has is that it can embed websites. So, when we have live events, I emebed the livestream feed right into the template, and it displays all around campus, audio, video, and all. This works great.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask, I love this topic.
