I am going to be getting a hurricane tomorrow and I am defiantly going to be loosing power and the problem with that is I won't have internet connections to use so I can be up to date during the storm. I wanna use my iPad as the main device for updates for my family during this storm and I am wondering if I should jailbreak and use the app MyWi to connect to my iPad from my iPhone to allow internet access on my iPad if the power goes out and I loose connections to Wifi. I can figure that jailbreaking is not recommended for me but that is the only option I have to connect my iPad to some sort of internet connection when the power is out. Jailbreaking does drain the battery out quicker so that is the problem. Tell me what you recommend because I am gonna be using the iPad as the main device to get some sort of update during this powerful hurricane! (I wanna use the MyWi app because I don't wanna pay or can't afford to get a wireless hotspot plan from AT&T for my iPhone) |

How about this, go to one of your neighbor's house, preferably one whose occupants has at least one person who has a portable wireless hotspot device be it an iPhone, Android or some other device. It's the only sure-win way if you don't wanna spend money. |

I thought that tethering Omnomnomed batteries? So would it really last that long? |

MiWi, yes you should! But MiWi isn't free, I think you have to pay Cydia $9.99. Unless you add the repo http://cydia.xsellize.com/ then it's the free version. |

It's "lose" and "losing." And why would you "defiantly" lose power. I'd be more defiant and stubborn about keeping my power on. Makes more sense to me I guess... |
