It takes me 10 seconds to open iTunes now since downgrading to Windows 7 Home Premium. And I have 3,545 songs and my library is 12.29GB large. Edited: 17th of June 2012, 15:54hrs. |

Just music I have 14748 songs at 62.91 GB Need to add all my around 120GB of films, but not looking forward to converting them all :/ In its current state, it takes about 4 seconds on my mid 2009 macbook pro (recently upgraded to 8gb ram) |

Well if opening it counts as AFTER the icon stops bouncing, less than a second. Starting from when you click? Just under 2 seconds. 69 songs, 418.5 MB. This part is just my opinion: You never really need more than 100 songs unless you absolutely love EVERYTHING an artist puts out. If it's from more than one, save ones that suit your mood. :3 |

With music I have 7014 Songs taking up 40.22 GB, I also have about 100 GB in movies I have ripped from my dvd collection. Takes about 4 seconds on my Custom built Windows 7 machine. |

I don't use iTunes because: A) Its a bloated POS and B) I don't need it! xD Though my Zune library, with about 1500 songs. opens in like 5-10 seconds. But I don't use that much either since I use Google Music for my Android phone mostly. |

1034 songs (Nearly 8gb)... And about 1 second on my iMac (2009) |

1802 Songs, 12.73GB. Takes 5 around seconds to open on a single core notebook. |

The biggest reason your iTunes takes so long to open is because of Vista... It bogs down even the fastest software!
The other reason is that iTunes on Windows is a bloated and slow POS. iTunes on a Mac, on the other hand, blows through loading times.
P.S-This number is just on my laptop. On my server PC, this would be in the high 100s.
