Hey, If you had to choose as a consumer, would rather have Apple create there own games (and I don't mean by acquiring a company to do it for them) or Microsoft making there own branded computers (also not by acquiring a company to do it for them) which has full support from the drives after installation just like Mac OSX does? Both company could (and should) hire new people to help them achieve their goals. For Apple it would be game artists and story creators, for Microsoft it would be hardware engineers (if both of them don't already have any of those) To me I'd rather see Apple stepping into the gaming industry. With Apple they actually advertise iOS (just an FYI, I am talking about games in general not just for iOS, iOS is just an example in this case) as there gaming platform and they give great support to there developers whether it be Industry sized or just an independent developer like me. Apple also has the developers to do it. They've ported the complete iWork package from an widescreen monitor to the small 4Inch screen of an iPhone (and that is not an easy task). They've porter iMovie which is highly intensive on RAM while iOS devices usually don't even have more than 512MB in total. They know their own code in and out, it's just a matter of getting the right idea for a game and making it. Also seeing that they advertise on gaming for their own platform why wouldn't they want to take there own part in it? Which would you rather see and why? |

I would really like to see Microsoft make their own PC hardware set: if they produced a very specific line of machines, and only filled a gap left by other pc makers (certain configurations for a price range, ETC) then I really think there wouldn't be too much flack from OEM's, beyond what one would normally expect in such a situation. One would certainly pay a slighly higher price for such a machine, VS another OEM based unit, but one would get a "pure" environment, and quite possibly, one with very specialized driver packages and hardware combinations designed for maximum quality: much the same way Apple designs their operating systems to their rather small branch of hardware, MS can assure that these machines would have perfect drivers for windows, and provide their intended user experience. If you want to know why I wouldn't like apple making games, I simply feel they would not make anything that would entice me: the casual (arcade style) games that exist on iOS devices today are fun, sure, but they don't keep my interest like they would other people: I simply am not a member of their intended market share. Even if they produced their own games ala Ages of Empires and such, I still just would not see a point. It's always 3rd party games that sell home game systems, and the same can be said for the computer gaming world, to most degrees. I bought my PC to play GTA4, Stalker, and the like.. not to play Angry Birds. Ya know? |

I think MS should make their own hardware. It would make Windows much more stable. Apple doesn't need to make games, as there are developers that can make games that would run as well as Apple could make them (plus, Apple's games would probably be Mac only) |

Apple can't make games. Apple just cant. MS on the other hand has experience with the XBOX and also manufacturing a PC won't be that hard. |
|
I'd much prefer that Microsoft produce their own computers it would allow perfect compatability, only laptops though, still want a DIY desktop. |

Hands down Microsoft making their own computers. Windows would be improved ten fold just because of it. |

I think seeing Apple INC. make there own gaming platform ( console or whatever floats there boat ) would be a big thing for Apple Computers . |
