Hello, thanks for reading this. I want to know if there is any way I could run a game (Call of Duty- World at War) from the hard drive instead of the CD. I lost the CD but I do have it installed on my computer. All the files for the game are on the hard drive. Thanks!

Yes you can. But you will need to crack the game files first.

GameCopyWorld.com is the place to be.

No discussion of illegal activities.

most games are legal to crack if you own them

Until DRM is a thing of the past and you buy physical media there is not really anything you can do about it. CD projek is awesome because they keep the DRM long enough so the game doesn't leak but once released their first patch is always the DRM crack.

Instead of cracking, I would advise looking at virtual optical drives.

Those operate by through a software driver creating what the system recognises as a dvd drive, but will read an ISO or other drive image from your harddrive or other location.

If you then install the game from that virtual drive then it will look for that instead of the physical media.

You may be able to find the original ISO or other image format on one of the file sharing services, though I would be careful to ensure that there are no malicious extras included as is often the case with those.

Instead of illegal ways of obtaining the ISO file, I would recommend borrowing the disk from a friend, creating an ISO and then returning it. Just as a note, you will need the virtual drive mounted when you play the game, but the files will be used off of your hard drive.

Can't argue with that. Obtaining the original disc from someone you know is safer option.
