iOS 5 and New iPhones

So first, I want to know if iPhone 5 is a rumor or not. If it isn't, when will it come out? I'm asking because my family's phone contract expired. So we can get new phones without that extra cost. And we want to get these phones as soon as possible.

a New iPhone has always come out in June or July (Apple has a yearly cycle on all their products), but the pretty much confirmed rumor is that there will be a new model around October. It may be the iPhone 5 or more of a 4[s].
