which of these brands would you go for? how efficient are they? |
|
toshiba tends to crappy on the bios side of things. Acer laptops offer decent specs for the money but their systems ted to run into hardware issues quicker than dell and toshiba laptops. Good thing about acer laptops is if you shop around online, you will get a system for like $600 that would cost $700-800 from other companies such as dell and toshiba. I personally purchased a acer laptop, $600 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834215037 Phenom II x4 2.2 GHz 4GB DDR3 Radeon HD 6650M At the time most of the other laptops offering a CPU that benchmarked close to the Phenom II and had a videocard that benchmarked as good as the 6650M, were in the $800 price range. I know that it will have hardware problems in a few years but due to the lower cost, I can replace any failed part and and get a few more years out of it. The most expensive part of the laptop cost $60 so if something fails, it will cost me at most around $60. With regular maintenance, (regularly cleaning the CPU heatsink every month (stick a vacuum hose to the bottom vent to suck the dust out) |

Toshiba Laptops, Dell Desktops, and Acer...uh...Acer...Old computers? |
|
acer as i haev used all three and acer are by far the best |
|
Dell for me; I've used Dell's for years and never had an issue. Only complaint I have is the amount of Bloatware that comes on Dell machines. Never had a HDD crash. Hardware features are good. Plus, the build quality of the laptops I have owned has always been good. Haven't dipped into Acer or Toshiba so I have no idea if I would like them better. |

I think you should look at Lenovo. They make good laptops. |
|
I'll check 'em out and consider them when I go to buy a new laptop, whenever that may be. Thanks. |

Toshiba for latop as well as Lenovo. for desktop Lenovo and Dells, I can't say for Acers for sure. since I haven't owned one personally. But did a recent upgrade for someone who bought one of the aspires and wanted another gig of ram in it. |

I build my own desktops now, I find it cheaper that way. The next laptop I get will most likely be an ultrabook, if that's whats popular in a couple years when I get a new laptop. I'll just have to wait and see. |

My friend has had a Toshiba for about 3 years and the thing is built very well, so I can agree with you on that. Overheating is a bit of a problem with Dells. Once again, no experience with Acer's. |
Acer has a lot of good reviews. I've had a few Dell Laptops and they've always crashed or had other problems.
