Hi,

I've just found the Dell Streak for $399 USD (Specs listed below.). I thought that it might be a really good buy but, after a quick Google search, just found out that it has been discontinued.

Specs:

- O.S: Android (Multi-touch UI) 2.2 Froyo
- 1GHz Qualcomm Snap Dragon 8250
- Display: 5" WVGA (800 x 480)
                  TFT support multi-touch
- Camera: 5.0M Rear-Facing + VGA
                  Front-facing Camera
- WLAN802.11b/g, Bluetooth, USB2.0
- Memory: 512MB Rom,
                512MB SDRAM
- Card Slot: 16GB (Pre-installed)
                   Micro SD, up to 32GB

Should I buy it even though it's been discontinued? Is this a good price? Could I update it to Android 3.0 Honeycomb?

Here's where I'd be buying it from: http://www.ptc-computer.com.kh/products/dell_2.html

Note: I'm living in Cambodia.

If it was 99 $, absolutely. But 399 seems pretty expensive for something thats being discontinued and has only a couple of tablet apps. Check out the following video on CNET TV: Things to do with a $99 HP TouchPad

It uses the Android Market and has incredibly good specs for it's price..

EDIT: I can't get a TouchPad, as I said, I live in Cambodia.

That's a bit too high for me. You're only getting a tablet with Android 2.2 with a 5" screen. There's plenty of other tablets that are priced at that same price but have better specs. ViewSonic is a retailer that sells really cheap and affordable tablets.

The thing is, I want it to be a phone as well as a tablet - it seems pretty ideal for me.

the problem is at 5 inches, you wont be putting it into your pocket and while a phone is a good feature, you wont be holding it up to your face.

it is also not the thinnest smart phone
