I am using a MacBook Air with OS X Lion. I am connecting through a 3G wireless USB dongle for a faster, self-supplied internet connection. I am also administrating a 3G wireless router. I am connected to both, but cannot figure out which source my laptop is pulling the internet from! I want it to receive the internet from the USB dongle, not from the router. I am trying to figure out which one takes priority over the other.

I need to be able to see the LAN so I can administer it, but not use its internet connection, but instead use my own.

Thanks, guys, if you can help me with this!

Go to the System Preferences app, and click Network. Below your list of connections, click the gear, and select Set Service Order. From there, you can arrange the connections in order of priority. Hope this helps!
