Hi, Basicly i have my isp's provided modem router, and im planning on getting an airport extreme. As its only a router. Would it be possible to run an Ethernet cable from a LAN port of the modem/router into airport extremes wan port - having wireless disabled on the modem/router - also wont be used via ethernet. Possible or cause errors?

You need to change your Modem/router in its settings to be only a Gateway and this should disable dhcp also but disable it if it doesn't, Google the type of modem/router you have and "Gateway mode" or "modem only". The you take one of the four lan ports out of that and plug it into the internet port on the Airport Router. Then you should be good to go.

To me is sounds like you just need to turn off the wireless and the DHCP on the modem/router and connect an Ethernet cable from the modem/router in to the airport extreme. That is what i think you need to do but it may be that you just need to disable the wireless and not the DHCP. For instructions on how to do this you will need to search google or ask on this forum for the instructions on how to do this for your specific modem/router. Can some one else on this forum please confirm whether or not i am correct as i think that this is the solution but i am not sure.
