Are You happy Minecraft 1.8 is finally here?

The long awaited update is here, Are you Happy that minecraft has more purpose now? Or did you like it just the way it was? (Or do you not care because you dont like Minecraft?)

I will be happy that it is out once I can update my client and server (Bukkit) to it. So I don;t get 10 emails from users saying "Why isn't the server updated yet????"

Well, I just made a second server on another computer to get a taste for 1.8 and I don't like it at all; it is laggy, hard to connect to and among other things not good. I really hope that they fix this quickly.

I used to run a server as well, just for my friends though, the only thing I hate about it is that they're never online and always bug me (aka ask me why it's off) when I put the server offline. I'm keeping it offline for a long time now just to save up CPU and RAM.

@nitrocrime: I just have a spare computer that is running the server, so I leave it on.

I think I'm going to just buy it later on. I've always liked the idea of creating things and the fact this game takes a lot of time is always nice. You get a lot from Minecraft, as apposed to an FPS which has limited levels and the game play is typically repetitive. Also, it fits the "casual gamer" style, I can play for an hour, put it down, and go at it again later if I'd like.

Since the 1.8 got leaked it kinda feels like the iPhone 4. It's not as awesome as it would have been if no content that was intended to leak was leaked (aka Minecraft 1.8 pre-release vs iPhone 4 images being leaked by gizmodo).

I agree that it does need work done... But eventually you wont be able to stick with it... SErvers will become incompatible... You would be left in the dust.

Like TheTechDude, I host a server, well 2 actually, that's another story. Mainly because one is a decoy server to separate a few people.. :)

A few of my ignorant users will update before Bukkit updates, so yeah, I hate it when new updates come out, because I have to track down all of the users and tell them to wait to update until the server gets updated.
