Is it possible for me to install Windows 8 onto either a flash drive, or even a CD? Pretty simple question haha :D

If you mean instead of the hard drive then certainly not to a CD due to the size requirements of 16gb+, nor is it designed to be installed to removeable media such as USB storage.

If you mean as a way of installing on a system that does not have a dvd drive then it should be possible to install it from a sufficient capacity usb flash or other drive.

http://www.ghacks.net/2011/09/14/how-to-install-windows-8-from-usb-key/ describes how to use a microsoft tool which allowed the process with windows 7, but equally can be used with windows 8.

The short answer is no. Microsoft doesn't allow any of their operating systems to run from a "flash / jump" drive due to licensing regulations. You can however run it from a VM, and you can have VirtualBox running from a flash drive.

no so far microsour doesn't allow you to install to a flash drive, but if you have a hdd in a usb docking station and can boot from usb you can install to that. however i would recommend against it, because you will take a huge performance hit.
