Hi! I'm just about to sign-up for a PayPal account, but I was wondering if it's a safe place to enter card number and stuff? Is it? |
|
Yes. It is a widely used service for paying online. It's safe. |
|
I've been using PayPal for quite some time and I've always found them to be reliable and secure. |

is a bank safe, is a 'safe' safe. is using credit/debit cards shafe? is storing it in a box under your bed, is posting on forum safe. common sense would say that you should research and learn how a bank, electronic funds transfers work as so forth. |

Well, you just need to make sure your account is safe with a secure password. Also if anyone in your house also has a PayPal account (or if you have two PayPal accounts) be careful when sending money to each other using PayPal because they have a skitzo policy that if they detect two accounts on the same IP Address sending money to each other they will freeze the account who logged on the IP most recently and demand the person to send very personal information (because they think you might be money laundering or something...) that they have no business having, and I heard that sometimes if you do send them the information they still don't unfreeze your account. When your account is frozen your money balance will be stuck on it and so will all your credit/debit cards and bank accounts, and for some strange reason they don't let you even delete your account. So, it's best to change your IP while sending money to other accounts that use the same IP address as you. |

Paypal is as safe as any other banking system. The convenience of working with many internet sites comes at a price though, as they charge per transaction if you send money to a paypal user or via email. You can get a paypal credit card or debit card, though. However, you'll be charged if you try to get cash via an ATM, as there are no Paypal ATMs. |
