I've tired installing it on 3 computers (Both 32 and 64 bit)and every time I get an error saying that I need to install a CD/DVD driver before I can install Windows 8, I don't have optical drivers for any of these computers because they're usually installed with Windows.

Has anyone else had this issue and did you get past it?

EDIT:

I just re-downloaded the Windows 8 images and everything seems to work, it must have been a corrupt image.

I just ran setup.exe from within Windows 7. Worked fine. Couldn't install from a DVD because the x64 image was too big for a DVD.

Do you know if you can do that from Vista?

do a clean install, and avoid problems from doing an upgrade install

the image with tools is too big for a dvd, put it on a flash drive. the image without tools will fit fine on a dvd, but i would also suggest using a flash drive for it as well.

It worked fine for me. If you want to avoid the issued just get a $20 extern that way you have 1 drive for all your computer

I've installed it on a second partition, but now I can not boot into Windows 7! However, I can acces my personal files and the entire primair partition, but when the "new" Windows 8 bootloader comes up and I select Windows 7, it will go into system startup repair. So I edited the "real" bootloader, so I can select Windows 7 from the black and white 8-bit kind off bootloader version. But even that gives me the exact same problem. How to fix?

I'd say get all your file off the Windows 7 partition and reformat. Don't use Windows 8 DPRV right now as it is not ready for public use. I feel you may have really screwed up your computer. A reformat is in order. Windows 8 probably botched the boot loader. Run Windows 8 in a virtual machine if your computer can handle it. Again, it is NOT ready for the public.

I've tried to run it in VirtualBox, on exactly the way all the tuts say, but it didn't work. I'm able to still get to all my files, so it isn't such a pity.

I just downloaded Windows 8 couple days ago. And I use VirtualBox to run it. I'm using Windows 7. It is highly recommended to use VirtualBox. For me, the first time I installed, I had to reboot everything. Including my windows 7 machine. No big deal. After that, everything worked fine. The only glitch I found is my Tweet@rama's timeline is not loading up. That is a bug of course. But it might be fine on yours. Anyway, try VirtualBox.

I just used Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool. It also works for Windows 8. I used that to put the iso on the USB, then I went into BIOS and booted from the USB, then installed it. It went flawless.

Also, don't install it over your current Windows. Create a new 20GB partition, then install it on that and dual boot. The Virtual Machine ways are better safety wise. I'm just saying how I did it.

The only real problem I am having with Windows 8 thus far is that IE 10 sucks and I had to force shut off my computer twice in the last 3 days. Of course I expected this so no big deal, but still just a couple of things.
