Scientists in Hong Kong recently determined protons do not exceed the speed of light. It was previously thought, as theorized by Einstein, that the more accurately one could determine the precise location of a proton in space, the less accurately one could determine it's exact speed, and vice-versa. Apparently, the Chinese scientists have overcome this hurdle and claim that if protons can't travel faster than light, then nothing in the universe can. It was also theorized, by Einstein and Nicola Tesla that time travel could only occur by exceeding the faster than light barrier. However, we know that the faster a body travels in space the slower the clock passes, GPS satellites must constantly update their clocks to remain accurate because of this phenomenon. So, do you think the scientist are correct in saying time travel is impossible, or are they making an educated guess and perhaps missing some undiscovered variables?

If time travel was possible and a time machine was made in the future, then we probably would have seen time travelers in our time by now. Unless they were smart enough not to interfere with the past...

When you make a time machine, you have a goal/ reason to make it, if you fulfill that goal in the past then there would never be that goal in the future, thus no reason for the creation of the time machine.

None of the goals in creating a time machine can ever be fulfilled as if they are then the reasons for making one would never exist and thus no reason to make one in the first place.

It is also complicated even if one can be made. 2 objects cant be in the same exact place. The earth rotates and moves around the sun, at the same time theres space dust and other particles in the air, and air it's self, if you travel through time, you are placing your self in the location of other forms of matter (not the best outcome for both the person and the matter going through this.

And suppose you could send memories back in time or send your mind back in time to your self. It would still not work as the any goals you hope to achieve will prevent that goal from ever existing.

So you have been standing in a room for 2 mins.

You make a portal to the same room but 1 min in the past.

You enter that portal and see yourself.

You take out your gun and kill your past self.

But if you are dead 1 min in the past.

Who are you? How can you be alive in the future but be dead in the past?

so let's just say that there is technology we aren't aware of yet that can calculate all the variables and determine exactly where in space you would be at any given time, and there are laws of physics that prevent a person who's traveled back from touching anything or even communicating with others, you can only observe. No paradoxes can occur. Would you exist in both times at once? would the time you left be frozen, waiting for your return? If someone else was traveling at the same time as you were who's time would stop to wait for the other, the one who traveled first or the on who went the farthest back in time? Would two time travelers traveling back in time using different machines but simultaneously create a paradox? Also I've heard another Einstein theory that says if your conscious could survive the trip into a black hole, time is compressed along with space to such a degree that the mind inside of it would experience all of time at once, past up to present all at the same time. I'm not expecting anyone to have any real answers for me. I just really enjoy the banter of these really weird hypothetical scenarios. So thanks for all the input.
