I tried to use a torrent to download some Linux ISOs the other day and it refuses to work. However, the last ISO I downloaded at 6am worked at full speed. However, once I stop this, if I come back to the download later in the day, the torrent will not download faster than about 100kbps (instead of the normal 4.4mbps). I have tried other torrents for reference and have the same issue with these, so it's nothing to do with the site or the legality, as I've tried multiple sources and of varying legailty for reference purposes. What shall I do?

The question has been closed for the following reason "There will be no discussions or links to file sharing sites. While we understand that the sites are not illegal, most of what they are used to download is illegal." by kevin Sep 17 '11 at 20:47

I rarely torrent, but if I'm correct there has to be many seeders in order for it to have a fast download speed and even download. Does it have seeders? |

Sometimes you need a certain ratio of download/upload as well.. try uploading some more stuff and refresh the trackers |

@Kevin, I was simply asking if anyone knew the reason downloading would only work at some times during the day. However, I did not realise you would not approve of this question and am sorry.
@Tim Fontana The reason is here http://lockergnome.net/questions/165187/windows-8-developer-preview-torrent
I personally think @kevin is over-reacting. the sites yes, I understand. but getting the program to work? seriously, no matter how many times I read those rules, I don't think it applies here.
The problem is not that the question is saying something illegal but talking about torrents can lead to discussions on how some ofthese questions are allowed and others not, so it's better not to allow any and avoid future problems.
@xedric Read the page I posted. The admin said
"Under the Terms of Service, it states under "File Sharing" that you may not link to torrent or other file sharing websites, despite the legality of its nature. We understand its not illegal, as linux ISO is an open - however, we decided that we wouldn't pick and choose. I hope you understand and respect this decision."
Now I hope you got the idea before an admin jumps in and it will not be good for you
Yarvaxea, please read:
"File Sharing - There will be no discussions or links to file sharing sites. While we understand that the sites are not illegal, some of what they are used to download is illegal. Please do not discuss where to find the newest movie or music online "for free," share links to your favorite torrent sites, etc."
"Last Word - A site admin or moderator ALWAYS has the last word. If they ask you to stop discussing something, please do so."
FAQ Terms of Service.
If you continue to cause problems and defy the staff, you'll be suspended.
@kevin point taken, thanks. anyway there are better topics than this one dude. let lockergnome stay "clean" - i like it that way. besides., you can google for those things if you want. though, sometimes I tend to ask lockergnome first before Google. hahhaaha.
