Just wondering, for all of those people out there in the Lockergnome community who uses prepaid cell phones or wants to cut costs of their cell phones, what do you think about Verizon offering $50 a month for unlimited everything for prepaid phones? What do you think of the selection of phones that Verizon is offering for the deal?

Well there cheap phones that are really basic and the web interface is crappy. I switched from pre-paid to contract in 6 months because it's cheaper in the long run.

Well some services it isn't. Like Verizon for example. You get a crappy phone, but you pay only $50 a month.

You're better off getting the Cricket Wireless $45 prepaid plan because they have better phones, and you can even easily use other phones (even smartphones) on their non-smartphone plans and people have even flashed their CDMA smart phones (and non smartphones) to Cricket Wireless. I'm not sure if you could possibly do that with Verizon, but it's still cheaper if you could. I personally like prepaid because you're not stuck into paying service for 2 years to basically pay the difference for the real cost of the phone and you don't have to worry about getting unexpected charges.
