Occasionally get a haircut on just the back to reduce the mullet effect.

I always parted it to the sides in high school as it grew: helped solve that issue. As the previous poster said, getting it cut a bit will help: after mine was about neck length, I finally stopped getting haircuts all together.

Scary, its been 3 years since I last had ANY trimming done on said hair. It's a little ragged around the edges, but eh, it's mine, it's long, and I still like it. XD

if you have curly hair like me then make sure to comb through it one or two times a week

Don't cut it unless you're cutting the split ends and brush hard 100x per day and you won't get bald. True!
