Hi I live in Sweden, which happens to be pretty awful. I'm thinking about moving to the US to study, but I want to explore the US and it's supply of universities first. So I thought I'd move to CA, find myself a brief job and travel around and visit some universities. I've got a place to live, where can I find a job? any websites? companies? Anyone got some tips on how to get a job in america? |

I would not suggest coming to the US to find a job. There is massive unemployment here and especially for college and just out of college people. California is one of the worst states with a government stated unemployment of 12%, but the real unemployment in Cali is around 20% and for college and just out of college students it is around 30%. The U.S. is no longer a place that you can travel from one location to another working as you go and seeing the sights. It used to be that way, but now if you try it you will starve and get stuck somewhere. If you plan on traveling the U.S. then get a job for a while, save up your money, then travel. The best place right now to get a job is in Texas, specifically Austin, San Antonio, and to some degree Houston. Dallas/Ft. Worth isn't too bad either. |
