They have these exact model screens for $40 to $60 all over the internet. I have one with a broken power input. They are pretty easy to take apart. There are screws under the rubber feet and you have to pry the silver things out from in the circles on the ends of the screen hinge. There is a video called "Acer Aspire One zg5 screen replacement" on YouTube. If I were you I'd get a screen and replace it, you'll spend a third of the cost of a new screen on the VGA cable. They do sell the cord you're asking about though. If that's you're actual screen in the picture, you'll probably be able to navigate around the crack to set up the external display. Do you have Linux Linpus or Windows on it? I had the Linpus and hated it, so I put Ubuntu on it and it was 100% better. Good Luck!

Thanks for the answer firstly id actually prefer to look at my laptop on the tv because of the size (42)the picture is not my screen but it is almost exact though the white that u see is permanently there i cant see my mouse or anything behind it its just like that and that it i cant even see to log on! i have windows xp on it and well thats it. any recommendations on how to log on / set it up without seeing anything? also i don't have the $50 dollars so that's not an option thanks for the help.

Get the cable and boot up the computer, plug the cable in the computer and screen. Once you're sure the computer has booted up right-click on the desktop (just anywhere you can be sure there isn't an icon). After you right-click, tap down on the arrow key six times, then the right key twice and it will switch to the external monitor. To simplify: Right-click, tap down key six times, tap right key twice and the monitor should display the computer screen. Hope it helps.
