Inward contoured computer screens?

My genius Dad had another genius idea today -- inwardly contoured screens. As in an exaggerated, larger version of the Nexus S screen. He says Apple is gonna start it, and come out with an iMac like that. But wouldn't that take up quite a bit of space? And it would be exremely difficult to engineer with warping the screen. Do you guys think this will ever happen? haha
