aside from the question above, are FREE antivirus program also doing them? (w/ the exception of course from MSSE) some geeks told me they do. and I don't know if I can mention their names. but is this statement really true?

and why are some computers that seem not infected, actually infect a Flash Drive? (this is true because when I plug my flash drive to my PC, it detects that there are malwares present in it.) I wonder how that happens when the computer I previously used w/ the flash drive was actually reported to be clean by its respective antivirus software.

and Have you guys watched the security blogs of Windows 8? what exactly do they mean by security attacks? is it just anti-piracy (meaning for microsoft's sake) or should it really concern me?

i'm asking cause i;m not really meeting those type of "attacks" by malware since I always have my system protected.

the antivirus companies develop their own viruses yes. But I don't think they will launch them on someone who uses the free version or no longer pays a subscription. To the second question. Some Anti virus software recognizes different viruses, it's pointless yes but they'll rather have their own virus definitions >.<' And (rarely) they say you have a virus because they detect a part of a program that looks similar to a virus.

yah., that. that lead me to think that the reason why they're not detecting it is because it's from them.

"program similar to a virus" - you're talkin' about the false-positives? agree with that.

thanks!
