Amazon recently announced a line of new kindles, including the tablet-like Kindle Fire. I'm currently thinking that I might buy the Fire, even though I already own an iPad. What are your thoughts? Will you be buying any of the new kindles?

I have just bought the cheapest Kindle... IT is finally down to a price I am willing to pay...

I already have an iPad, and use the kindle app on that but I find the e-ink display much more comfortable than my bright LCD display of the iPad.

My mission is to get back into reading, and since I hate paper I don't like books, so a Kindle was perfect :)

I'm the same way about paper.

The Kindle Fire looks pretty awesome, but I think I'm going to save my money for one of those Samsung tablets they showed at the Build conference.

The Kindle Touch interests me. The only reason I like the Kindle is the e-ink display, it's the best for reading books. I'd buy the Kindle Touch but it's not available in the UK for some reason.

It's not available anywhere yet. But maybe they will make a global version.

Actually the 3G one is global. interesting.

$79! HOW CAN I RESIST THAT!!!???!! I might buy the base model just because it intrigues me. I already have a Kindle 3G 3rd gen and I love it, but yeah that is a great price.

One thing I don't like is how the current Kindles appear to cost the exact same as before. Maybe they upgraded it. Actually they did because it has a 2 MONTH battery! so idk then haha

I would totally buy the Kindle Fire in a heartbeat if it had free 3G like the regular Kindles, but they didn't include it, unfortunately. It's still a nice tablet and I might still get it if I can't get a hold of a HP TouchPad (Which I am still waiting to be available again!!).

Was going to buy a Kindle Touch, but not going to be available in the UK. So won't be bothering.

I'm going to wait for a couple of weeks after the initial release (or when supplies are restocked). Depending on memory and performance I might buy one,but I will have to mod it with a base Android build.
