I have a Dell Inspiron D530 Desktop from early 2008. I know its old now, but I upgraded many of the components in January 2010. I Added 4GB of RAM, put in a new graphics card, and upgraded to Windows 7. So it has been working fine, up until last week. I went to boot the system up like I usually do every morning, and nothing happened. I left it for a day and tried again, and still nothing. So I went about troubleshooting. I unplugged it and tried another outlet, didn't work. On the power supply itself, it has a status light--its green, so I know its not that. I opened it up and disconnected and reconnected the cables to the drives, etc. There was also a wire from the power button on the fromt, to the motherboard. I did the same. None of these ideas worked sadly. The worst part of it all, is that the warranty expired in April of this year, and I'm not really willing to pay Dell another 200 bucks. If you can help me, or if you have any suggestions, its greatly appreciated. Thanks!

When you push the power button, does anything happen at all? Do the drives and fans start spinning?

Have you tried just unplugging all the power connections except the one for the motherboard and just try just turning it on from there to see if you get to at least the post. Then Try one by one adding the power connectors to each section nd seeing where it might lead to where it down't even boot up at that point. It might even be a loose connection somewhere on the power connections inside that might be the problem.
