What if Apple decides to make IOS an open source platform. How will the tech world react. Will samsung and LG fianlly switch to Apple iOS...will Apple make more money than they made ever before....what do you geeks think.....and what about poor Android then... |

Apple like keeping control of what you can and can't run on their OS. They want to limit the applications to those they are selling through their own service, those which they are making money from and not those from a 3rd party. iOS will never be open source as long as the apps and content and the needed control over them prove to be such a big money maker for apple. |

No. Apple doesn't need to make it open source. They are doing fine the way they are. Look at the excitement that has built up for iOS 5 already. Apple does fine keeping everything to themselves. |

Hey guys imagine a day.....when Apple decides to go open source actually.....iOS itself is not good u have to agree that its their famous App store that's really keeping the iphone and ipads alive. I mean iphone 5 will release in 48 hours and within a month or two there are going to be better phones like Samsung Galaxy S3 ...but people still buy iphone because of their apps.....i agree Apple brand plays a major role too. All the Apps 99 percent are developed by 3rd party developers....if iOS ever goes open source......Google will crash and android will shut down in one day...... |
