We have moved into a long house, and unlike the previous house where the router was right outside my room, in this house, which is mostly hallway, the router and my room are on the opposite ends of the house, and the range stops just outside my room.

So, what I am picturing is us getting some sort of wireless repeater type thing. So, is there such a thing, and if so, where can I find them? If there is no such thing, then is there a way to increase the signal broadcasted from my router?

Thanks for any help you can give me!

ah ok thank you so much!

In the mean time, if I log into the router and go to the settings, can I alter the signal output strength from there? I mean the signal cuts out right outside my room so that might be all I need to do if it's possible.

most standard firmware won't let you do it. You can try looking in the wifi sections and it could be next to the frequency channel selector

I doubt I can with ours.

if you have another wireless router, you can use it as a repeater or a access point, simply see if dd-wrt is available for it.
