I'm trying to wipe my hard drive completely, and I'm having some problems. I tried wipedrive, and it won't load up correctly. Then I tried darik's boot and nuke, and it said that it had a bunch of errors. I use Gparted to edit partitions, so I was going to use it to delete my partitions manually. But it said that it won't mount. I don't know why everything stopped working all of the sudden. |

Ok, I'm assuming your using windows. Just pop in your Windows DVD, then when it asked for a drive, just go to advanced options or something around that line and there should be an option to format. |

wiping and formatting are two completely different things. get yourself of the 5.0 partition wizard boot cd and try deleting the partitions with it, then try wiping the drive. if that doesn't work my other suggestion would be to get a copy of linux you like, create the boot cd / dvd, and use it to cleanup the drive. if linux can't fix it it can't be fixed. |
